Kasetsart University in collaboration with the University of Hohenheim's Food Security Center is announcing the short-term scholarship for:

1) South – South PhD Sandwich Scholarship 2013. The FSC awards two visiting Sandwich scholarships to PhD students from developing countries in Asia for a period of six months in 2013. The scholarship aims at increasing their previously gained scientific knowledge and skills relevant to food security related issues. Successful candidates will receive a scholarship for conducting PhD thesis related research studies and hence adding value to the PhD thesis and contributing to the mission of FSC. 2) South – South Research Scholarship 2013. FSC seeks visiting postdoctoral researchers from developing countries in Asia for a period of four
months in 2013. The Center wishes to attract young innovative professionals. The scholarship aims at increasing their previously gained scientific knowledge and skills relevant to food security related issues. The successful candidate will collaborate with the research staff of one of FSC’s partner universities

Eleven SEARCA graduate alumni were among the more than 150 participants composed of researchers, academics, policymakers and planners, development workers, and other professionals from as far as Fiji Islands, Germany, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Japan and Southeast Asia who attended the “International Conference on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Food and Environmental Security,” on 21-22 November 2012 at SEARCA in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines.
