The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is pleased to announce the winners and finalists of its annual photo contest. The winners of this year's contest with the theme, "Southeast Asia in Quest of Food Security," best capture the efforts that Southeast Asians do to ensure that there is affordable, nutritious, and safe food on our tables.

We received more than 1500 photographs that emphasize all the livelihood activities along the food supply chain—from scientists who develop agricultural technologies to people who sell seeds, fertilizers and pesticides; to farmers and fishers hard at work; to transporters of bountiful harvests to markets; to food processors; to food sellers and colorful markets; and finally to consumers—that contribute to a food-secure Southeast Asia. Winners of this contest are photographs that bring home the message that there is an urgent need for a more united and concerted effort to address food security in the region.
